People gathered Saturday on Governors Drive in Huntsville and in communities across the state of Alabama for “ No Kings” demonstrations to protest the direction of the country under President Donald Trump.

Demonstrators packed both sides of Governors Drive just west of Huntsville Hospital on Saturday morning, joining hundreds of thousands nationwide taking part in "No Kings" rallies protesting the direction of the country under President Donald Trump.

From Selma to Birmingham, Saturday's demonstrations drew those unhappy with the state of the nation's leadership to the streets and the public square.

"No Kings" is a national day of action to protest actions taken by the second Trump administration, like deportations and Medicaid cuts.

Saturday's demonstrations, in opposition to President Donald Trump and his policies, will mark the third such nationwide protests organized by the 50501 movement to take place in Houston this year.
