The U.N.-developed panel, known as IPC, said conditions “worsened dramatically” in recent months, with food consumption at its lowest level since the conflict began.

For months, humanitarian aid organizations and international bodies have warned that Gaza is facing "critical" levels of hunger and that famine is "imminent" in parts of the Gaza Strip. An increasing number of deaths due to malnutrition have also been reported and gut-wrenching images have emerged of suffering children and long food lines.

The world’s leading authority on hunger said that a ‘worst-case scenario of famine’ was developing in Gaza, though stopped short of a formal famine declaration. NBC News’ Matt Bradley reports.

President Trump said today that the U.S. would do more to help the starving population in Gaza. After a meeting in Scotland with Britain’s prime minister, the president criticized the aid distribution effort his administration has backed in Gaza and said he wanted to create more easily accessible food sites.

As the world sees images of desperate families in Gaza begging for food, Pres. Trump said on the world stage that Palestinians are starving and the U.S. will step in to help.
