Long-distance runner Evie Parts has sued the National Collegiate Athletic Association and Swarthmore College as well as members of its athletic department, saying they illegally removed her from the track team because she is a transgender athlete.

Evie Parts, a transgender woman, argues the NCAA and Swarthmore violated state and federal law by barring her from the college’s women’s track team.

Evie Parts was told she could either compete with the men or as an unattached athlete. It sent her mental health spiraling.
