The NBA season has officially tipped off, and things got started in a big way. However, the Wednesday night slate has plenty of storylines to keep fans excited. The Dallas Mavericks will begin their season with a prime time matchup against the San Antonio Spurs that is set to air on ESPN.
Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison surprised the sports world when he traded Luka Dončić last season. Then he shockingly ended up with the No. 1 pick in this year's draft, which landed him Cooper Flagg, the youngest draftee to go first overall since LeBron James in 2003.
Cooper Flagg will make his regular-season debut on Wednesday and a new Gatorade ad voiced by Dirk Nowitzki sets the tone.
It's safe to say there is no shortage of Victor Wembanyama hype ahead of the San Antonio Spurs big man's third NBA season.
