A winter storm is hitting the Midwest with snow and wintry conditions, causing travel issues for many who were looking to get home following Thanksgiving.

Black ice, snow showers and fog pestered post-holiday travelers in the Midwest on Monday while the Northeast geared up for its first major snowstorm of the season.

Travelers both on the road and in the air were impacted by the storm.

Chicagoans suited up in puffer jackets and toted sleds over the weekend during the city’s snowiest November day on record, which saw 8.4 inches of snowfall at Chicago O’Hare airport.
