CBS' Watson TV show is set to introduce Sherlock Holmes and portray the iconic character in a way that fans have never seen before, according to the series' boss.

While Sherlock Holmes and John Watson's relationship defined the BBC's Sherlock, Elementary's interpretation of Watson was arguably even better.

Watson (Achilles) is not expected to return to practice this week, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The series transposes Watson's character into contemporary times and gives him a central medical career, while maintaining a strong link with Conan Doyle's universe. With a cast led by Morris Chestnut and an experienced production team, Watson offers a fresh approach blending medical drama, investigation and psychological confrontation.
