The National Weather Service says that it issues blizzard warnings "for winter storms with sustained or frequent winds of 35 mph or higher with considerable falling and/or blowing snow that frequently reduces visibility to 1/4 of a mile or less. These conditions are expected to prevail for a minimum of 3 hours."
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for MetroWest and Greater Milford from 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, through 7 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. As of Sunday evening, forecasts are calling for blizzard conditions on Monday with 12 to 22 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 55 mph.
