Thousands of Rhode Islanders are waking up without power on Tuesday, Feb. 24, following the record-setting Blizzard of 2026. Rhode Island Energy was able to cut the number of outages in half overnight, according to a press release from the company, restoring power to 30,000 customers.

As of early morning on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 156,000 Eversource customers were reported without power on the Cape. The company reported that 80% of the Cape's three largest towns – Barnstable, Falmouth and Yarmouth – have no power, while 99-100% of Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans and Brewster have no power.
