Arsenal can call on depth
Arsenal centre back Gabriel Magalhaes is a doubt to face Crystal Palace but Mikel Arteta has quality options to step in. The Gunners brought in eight players in the summer with the idea of increasing quality in the squad so that if a key player was injured, the player who stepped in would not lead to a substantial drop in level.
Arteta was undertaking his coaching badges during the 2015-16 season, his final season as a player at Arsenal, before joining City where he met Nicolas Jover, who would later become set-piece coach at Brentford before joining Arsenal in 2021, less than two years after Arteta became manager.
