From the Jersey Shore to the Poconos, thousands of people were on the roads Friday in the Philadelphia-area. Nikki DeMentri reports.

Memorial Day is one of the busiest travel weekends. More than 45 million people are expected to go at least 50 miles from home.AAA spokesperson Daniel Armbruster says approximately 19,000 vehicles will break down over the holiday weekend and it should be a must for travelers to have a trusted mechanic check their vehicle before hitting the road.

VIRGINIA BEACH — According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular remained the same as the previous week at $3.19. Good news, it said, for the record-breaking 1.08 million Virginians heading out of town for the long holiday weekend.
